John started working in the Funeral Industry in 2009 as a contractor for American Funeral Financial (AFF). His main role was to create a website that simplified the process of starting new insurance claims. His technology and business process expertise led to a very successful rollout for the customer facing side which led to him being recruited to implement all the technology for back-office process including converting to a paperless system and managing the network and phones. This experience came from over 30 years in IT working in multiple industries as a contractor and manager of personnel for software contracting services. Some of the notable projects he managed were the first e-commerce website for Sam’s Club, a high volume transactional rental system for Thrifty Rental Car and conducting year 2000 audit services for fortune 500 companies including Pepsi and Williams Communications.
After AFF was acquired by C&J Financial John has continued to implement and innovate new technology for multiple acquisitions bringing them all into the paperless and super-efficient world of high-volume transactions. This technology enables over 115 C&J financial employees to deliver exceptional service while connecting over 5000 funeral homes and the families they serve to over 1200 Insurance Companies, all from disparate home and corporate offices in 5 different states.
In his spare time John enjoys gaming, watching movies, and spending quality time on outings with his wife Colleen.
